Do you want to Volunteer to help?

admin United States
Welcome to the Crystal Wiki. Do you want to help? Register for an account and post here to introduce yourself. We are interested in hearing from everyone who wants to help.

Right now, we are recruiting volunteer to help us monitor and manage the content that we will be adding over the next several months. Healing Crystals has hired 2 paid moderators to get started, and we are currently recruiting additional moderators who wish to volunteer their time to help.

If you would like to join a fun team and help contribute to others, post on our board. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let us know that too.

Thanks!

Shawn

Thanks Shawn. I've received your email and I am looking forward to helping out in anyway I can. biggrin

Hello Trudi,

Thanks so much for your post and we'd love some help. There is just so much to do and you can donate as much or as little time as you'd like. We're actually fairly new at moderating forums and such, so we could really use your experience.

Right now, we have two people working on the Crystal Wiki content; Shawn and Kristi. Kristi is the moderator of the HC forum and she writes our newsletters. I am the general manager of healing crystals and a director of our Foundation. I just love growing our online metaphysical community and I am really excited about this project.

Since you have experience moderating forums, I'd love your input and ideas on how we can solicit more participation from our visitors. We have a forum on our Healing Crystals website here:
http://www.healingcrystals.com/forum/

and we also have a forum on Crystal Wiki:
http://www.crystalwiki.com/tiki-forums.php

Although we have had a lot of visitors, we have not had a lot of people post on our forums yet.

Some things that we are currently working on is to:

1. Grow our link directory. Would you be willing to go through your favorite metaphysical bookmarks and add them to our link directory?

2. Grow our list of articles. Have you written any articles that you'd like to share with others? If so, please submit an article and we'll post it. For submitted articles we allow people to list their full name and website link at the bottom of the article to give proper credit and a linkback.

3. Improve metaphysical directory and add more cross-links to things like "stones by color" and "stones by chakra". Would you be willing to help us add more pages to our MPD?

Thank you again for contacting us and I look forward to hearing back from you. :-)

Love and Harmony,

Shawn Adler

Hi All! I'm Trudi. biggrin

What a wonderful and natural expansion for HealingCrystals.com and the world! It's going to be a fantastic resource for all.

I can donate some time to help out around the site. If needed, let me know what kind of things you'd like help with. I've moderated on forum boards, I enjoy researching and I am a quick study when learning something new. I am able to come here most days each week. biggrin

  • + : A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in every object returned.
  • - : A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in any row returned.
  • By default (when neither plus nor minus is specified) the word is optional, but the object that contain it will be rated higher.
  • < > : These two operators are used to change a word's contribution to the relevance value that is assigned to a row.
  • ( ) : Parentheses are used to group words into subexpressions.
  • ~ : A leading tilde acts as a negation operator, causing the word's contribution to the object relevance to be negative. It's useful for marking noise words. An object that contains such a word will be rated lower than others, but will not be excluded altogether, as it would be with the - operator.
  • * : An asterisk is the truncation operator. Unlike the other operators, it should be appended to the word, not prepended.
  • " : The phrase, that is enclosed in double quotes ", matches only objects that contain this phrase literally, as it was typed.
